Monochrome 2008-09

Text by Ken Simcox

Another great competition, a truly superb collection of monochrome prints.

The judge, Peter Clarke FRPS EFIAP APSA PPSA was on magnificent form, giving good constructive comments. Those photographers new to competitions may sometimes think that many minor points made are "nit-picking", but I can only say that good judges see parts of the image that the author sometimes miss completely. It's these small points that in exhibitions are the difference between acceptance and rejection and between "awards" and "almost there".

"Well done" to all.
