Dave Symonds
In 1985 I purchased a Ricoh XR10, the bug then bit. My main interest was creative colour slide montages, monochrome prints and hand coloured mono prints. In 1991 I gained two ARPS distinctions, 1) Colour Transparencies and 2) Colour Prints. In 1992 came a Fellowship of the Royal with a panel of Hand Coloured Monochrome prints. AFIAP and EFIAP distinctions were completed in 1991 and 1993 respectively.
I became interested in Bromoil printing in 1999, subsequently joining The Bromoil Circle of Great Britain.
From 2004 onwards I changed from "wet" darkroom and film cameras to digital. My only current "wet" darkroom activity, is the production of Bromoil Prints, but generated from digital inter-negatives.
Now living in Scotland, my other passion is Hill Walking (off the main tracks), although these days it's one day walking, the next spent in pain!
Here I would like to acknowledge Frank Young, (sadly no longer with us) whose knowledge, encouragement and love of photography was priceless.
