Competitions 2008/2009
Natural History
The Natural History Competition was the first competition of the club's 2008/2009 season.
There were two levels of competition: novice/intermediate and advanced; with 22 images entered into the former, and 34 images entered into the latter category.
First Open
The first open competition was held on 1st October 2008.
There was a total of 117 entries across the three levels of competition: novice, intermediate and advanced; and two categories: monochrome print and colour print.
Landscape
The annual landscape competition was held on 29th October 2008. There were a total of 71 entries on the night. The judge was Bob Underhill APAGB AIPE.
Norman Mobley won the monochrome print trophy with Unloved, while Kim Bowen took the colour print trophy with Glen Shee.
Monochrome
The annual monochrome competition took place on 3rd December 2008.
The competition was judged by Peter Clarke FRPS EFIAP APSA PPSA.
2nd Open
The second open subject competition of the 2008/2009 club year was held on January 28th 2009. There was a total of 99 entries across the three levels of competition. The judge on the night was Ralph Duckett MPAGB AFIAP.
3rd Open
The third open subject competition was held on April 8th 2009. There was a total of 109 entries across the three levels of competition. The judge on the night was Tony Dudley.
Frank Young 3-of-a-kind
The annual Frank Young memorial competition was held on 22nd April 2009. The competition theme was "Three of a Kind" — members produced panels of three prints.
Glen Beach
In the 2008/09 season, the Glen Beach was an open subject competition. This was the last competition of the club season, held on May 20th 2009.
There was a total of 100 prints entered. The judge on the night was Ian Hodgkiss CPAGB.
