Wednesday 4th February, saw the first leg of the annual Burtworthy Trophy Competition
between Burton-on-Trent PS and Tamworth PC. The competition, which is in it’s fourth year
is for Novice and Intermediate members who make the selection of images themselves.
The same images, 15 prints and 15 PDIs, are used in both home and away legs and the winner
being decided on the aggregate score. Different judges are used giving members an insight to
judging styles and an opportunity to have their work appraised by two well established judges.
In the three previous years Burton have won twice to Tamworth’s one; so was it time to square
the series or for Burton to extend their lead?
As you will see from the scores below Tamworth did exceedingly well emerging as clear winner
and Les Beardmore being awarded both Best Print and PDI on the night, just pipping Sue Horton
and Keith Newman who both registered a 20 for their print and PDI respectively.
Thursday 5th March, saw the second leg of the annual Burtworthy Trophey Competition, again
Tamworth did exceedingly well emerging the clear winner for both legs and the overall competition.
A special mention for Les Beardmore for getting best pdi and Jim Feeney for best print in the
second leg.
Well done to everyone who had work selected.
1st leg was judged by John Haines
2nd leg was judged by Graham Walton
